Weblogic Clustering - What Is It
Server clustering is a common application, in which a web server provider has multiple servers on-site but connects them in such a way that they appear to be on server to the client. Weblogic Clustering is the running of Weblogic's e-commerce online transaction processing platform.
The logic behind using a cluster server is simple, if a client is using a single server that has no scalability, and then when multiple users attempt to gather information from the server, the server slows down. When using cluster servers this problem is eliminated because the capacity is such that it can access more information faster, without the problems that occurs when accessing an outside source. In addition, much like server clustering, Weblogic clustering can provide speed and security advantages to your server that is not available when using only one server. Weblogic Clustering has three of the same advantages as server clustering. First is the scalability. Scalability is the ability of Weblogic Clustering to introduce more servers into its function as growth occurs. This ability means that when a new server is introduced into the cluster, there is not interruption of servers, or compatibility issues. Second is load balancing. Weblogic Clustering allows the information being requested from the server to be distributed between all of the servers in order to balance the draw of information. This allows one server to take on a greater load without causing the service to the user to slow. Last is failover, which allows a server node to be removed from the other severs with interrupting service. Because Weblogic is a highly regarded platform, it makes sense for a business using it to convert to Weblogic Clustering. This change will allow for more flexibility, less down time with server related issues, and all around faster servers for the company and their clients.
